Weekly Recap

Guys, what is happening with mother nature? One week we get beautiful weather, 70 in February with thunderstorms followed by 8 degree weather a day later. Like, really?

I had a good week in reading it seems, up until the last book I read which turned out to be a bit disappointing even thought I LOVED the beginning. The review of that book will be coming next week. I posted a poll below because I cannot decide which book I want to read from my TBR pile next and looking for some push :D. I have this weird thing, I get excited about a release and hoard it without reading it because I am just too scared, intimidated to read it? It’s weird, my husband thinks it’s weird. Oh well, moving on.

Did you guys see the post by my new guest reviewer Sophia Rose? I wanted to announce her last week, but I decided to just wait until after she posts. I’m excited to have her so look forward to more wonderful reviews from this sweet heart reviewer.

On the home front it’s been a bit crazy. Husbands birthday was yesterday, we got to celebrate with friends and that was fun which took my mind of my grandmother’s medical problems. She is in pretty rough shape, lives over seas and my mom and dad got there in time to move her to a different hospital because her current one was literally killing her. I hope she pulls through, but it’s rough right now.

Thank you to all who wished my son a happy birthday last week. I appreciate it. Even thought I did not have time to reply to the comment. I read ALL of your comments on my phone as they come in every day and I appreciate them so much. Thank you guys. I hope to get around to replies when the craziness settles. In the meantime I use that time to comment on your lovely posts instead.

  1. You have gotten a lot of books. I hope you love all of your new books. I think you should read Lisa Kleypas next. Just my opinion. Have a lovely weekend.

  2. “I get excited about a release and hoard it without reading it because I am just too scared, intimidated to read it?” OMG I thought I was the only one that did that! LOL! Scared that I might not like it, so I just keep it on the back burner and just covet it. We’re seriously messed up! 😀

I’m sorry about your Grandmother, illnesses are hard to deal with. But the support she gets from her family will make her feel better.

Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen

  3. I know what you mean about the weather Lily, we’ve had extremely windy weather lately and I don’t mind it as long as I’m inside, but this hasn’t been the case at all lately! I hope things get better for your grandmother, it can be really difficult especially if she doesn’t live nearby. I voted for The Hate U Give, I have been hearing some great things about this book lately! I hope you have a great week! 🙂

  4. Yikes, glad your folks got your grandmother moved to a safer hospital. Yay for your hubby and son’s birthdays. Always fun to celebrate.

Nice little haul this week. I had to laugh about your thing with new releases you get. I’m the same way about not immediately reading them.

Thanks for my big warm welcome, Lily. Have a great week!

  5. I’ve given up on having any winter at all. I think Florida got skipped. LOL It was in the 70’s and 80′ all this past week. *sigh* So sorry to hear about your grandmother. 🙁 I hope the change in hospital makes a difference. I voted for Written in Red since I have heard such phenomenal things about that series. Hope you enjoy whichever one you pick!

  6. I voted Six Wakes because it’s awesome ha ha! I just read it a couple weeks ago. And what She Saw looks good- I’ll have to check that one out. And I know what you mean about the weather- it’s been kinda crazy here too.

Best wishes to your grandmother, hope all goes well.

  7. Wow.. happy birthday for your soon and husband. I hope you had a great time celebrating and lots of awesome things in the future for you and family. 😀

I’m so sorry about your grandma. I hope all goes well.

I’m planning to read Devil in Spring as well. It sounds awesome, getting lots of great reviews so far.

I hope you enjoy your week, have an awesome time filled with awesome reads. 😀

  8. Kathy

Happy birthday to you son and husband. I hope your grandmother is well. It’s so hard to be far from loved ones so I hope she gets better care. I voted for The Hate U Give because I want to read this too. I hope you enjoy whichever book wins and have a great week!

  9. Yeah…the weather is weird just about all over the world. I’ve been seeing reviews for I SEE YOU everywhere. Same with Six Wakes. Looks like all the books you’ve chosen as possible upcoming reads are all of different genres. I’m a moody reader and sometimes I’ll choose one genre over the other depending on my mood. Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great reading week!

  10. So I totally think you HAVE to read Devil In Spring. It was amazing. And yeah the weather has been weird. Of course alot warmer than I am used to since moving to Texas. But so bi polar, typical winter to spring adjusting though. Wish it was more predictable though.

  11. The weather around here has been really crazy too. Over the weekend it was super cold and windy, and the next couple days are supposed to be warmer in the low 60s. so weird! So sorry to hear that things are not well with your grandmother. That’s so hard. Glad your parents were able to get her somewhere better. Hopefully things turn around soon for her, and she gets well soon.

  12. The weather here has been lovely and warm lately, but it changes so quickly too. So temperamental. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother sweetheart. She’ll be in my thoughts.

I just finished The Hate U Give, so would love to see what you think of that one too <3 <3

  13. Hey Lily,

You must have a lot on your mind, I’d like you to know that my thoughts are with your grandma and you! I hope she’ll feel more comfortable in the new hospital.

I have had my eyes on Written in Red for a while, I’d like to read a review from you of that book.

By the way, I’d like to let you know that I put a link to your blog on my website (right side, in the ‘blogs I visit frequently’ section). I like your blog and I hope this way more people will find you.

    Have a great week!

  14. I don’t even understand the weather right now – I cannot even begin to try. It is what it is though!

Happy birthday to your hubby! Mine’s bday is today! 🙂

I really need to pick up that Anne Bishop series! I’ve seen such good things!

Hope you’ve had a lovely week and have a great weekend ahead!
