Weekly Recap

Hey guys, been a second there. It’s been super busy around here. Husband has been basically working seven days a week, so me and the little one have been keeping busy around the house.

Been trying to get my garden going, but it’s been a project and a half. It’s hard to explain to a 2 year old the difference between weeds and plants, especially when he just enjoys ripping both of them out πŸ˜‰ really loves mommy’s reaction I guess.

Also, the weather has been kind of cool for may here.

Reading has been slow. I didn’t get as much done this month as I did last, it’s a bummer πŸ™ Feeling a bit in the slump. Anyone have any awesome recommendations?

Hope you guys enjoy your holiday weekend!

Currently Reading

1. One of Us is LyingΒ Β -I am actually enjoying most of this, but its not blowing it out of the water for me. Β 2. Seven Years – It’s kind of fast paced and I love shifters, especially werewolves. But Lexi to me is TSTL and just so much stuff keeps piling up my head is spinning. 3. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August – I picked this up because of so many praising, so many good reviews. Struggling with it. The book feels a bit too dry for me. I have to focus on most of the chapters and I guess my mind is just not there.

New Arrivals

I’ll take a picture of them later.

  1. Aw the little one sounds so cute. πŸ™‚ Gardening is a lot of work! But the rewards are very satisfying.

I’ve sort of been in reading slump myself. I read a vampire romance called Dark Lord of the Night by S.K. Ryder which I really liked.

Hope you have a good week. ~Aleen

  2. I’ve been in as close to a reading slump as it gets, for me! I don’t even want to think about my my reading as slowed down, during May. I’m aiming to pick up things in June though. Yo! My mom is desperately trying to plant her plants, but this weather has been annoying and so wishy-washy. Maybe tomorrow though, when it doesn’t rain for the 54935340th day in a row. πŸ˜€

Have a fabulous week, Lily! =)

Oh no! Probably does think it is fun to see you jumping up to replant your garden plants.

Hopefully, June will be a better reading month for you, Lily!

  4. I had a slow May too, reading- wise. And I am looking forward to One of Us Is Lying, I’m hoping it will be good. πŸ™‚

Hope you’re having a good Memorial Day weekend.

  5. It is hard when you spouse is working so much….especially with a little one. I have to admit that I giggled a bit at the idea of him pulling the plants and the weeds. It is funny how much “help” small ones can be. I hope your reading picks up for you and you find a book that you will really love. Have a good week!

  6. I know what you mean about being in a reading-slump Lily, reading has been a bit of struggle lately, but my last few reads have picked me up, I read and loved The Light we Lost! I hope you have a great week! πŸ™‚

  7. Haha the little one sounds so cute! I love that he rips out both weeds and plants. I hope you get out of your slump though, Lily. I hate slumps with every fiber of my being.
    Have a good week ahead!

  8. Oh, two-year olds make so many things challenging, but also fun. They are so darn cute whatever they do!

I have been loving the Will Trent series by Karin Slaughter, but you know that. πŸ™‚ I also have started a re-read (by audio) of Kristen Ashley’s Sweet Dreams. It’s my first book ever of KA, my 3rd time reading, and I’m loving the audio! I’m so addicted even though I have way too many ARCs I need to get through!

  9. Oh no on the weed/flower issue. lol I’m full grown and sometimes I have no clue. Ha! Hope you’re able to get out of your slump! Have you tried the Bookshots from James Patterson and various authors? Not world changing reads but they always pull me in when I’m in a slump.

  10. Oh oh a reading slump. That is the worst. I just read Heartless and I really liked it. I am picking up the audiobook of White Hot next can’t wait. I would recommend both. Hope you get your garden planted. We finally got our hanging baskets up and our fairy garden put together.

  11. I’ve been struggling balancing the blog and real life — so much going on over here! Your little helper sounds adorable, and that made me giggle! I remember those days πŸ˜‰ Can’t wait for your thoughts on your current reads, Lily! Have a wonderful week πŸ˜€

  12. TSTL heroines are the worst! I feel like throwing my kindle out the window with some of their antics, so I can understand why Seven Years would be a mixed bag for you.

  13. Oh dear! Gardening with a 2 year old is… Very different. πŸ˜‰ I’m glad you’re getting time together though!

One of Us is Lying actually looks really good and I hope that it turns it up a notch.

Hope you’re having a better week this week!
