That includes online dating, which ends in disaster when the man that showed up at a date is much older than he said he was, a climb out the bathroom window to escape, and a hospital visit due to an injured ankle.
Ethan Black is a workaholic, a doctor that is rough around the edges and has already gone through one miserable relationship. He didn’t count on the fact that he will be sitting his sister’s dog, or that the dog will try and destroy his apartment. So he asks his dog sitter to move into his apartment temporarily, not expecting the explosion in chemistry that follows.
This was cute, it was a decent read. I can see why people loved it.
For me? It didn’t get interesting until about 58% into the book. I felt it dragged until then, I was bored, and had a bit of a hard time. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with it, I just did not find myself really invested and was really bored. It took me 13 days to read this, ouch.
Harriet was sweet, the relationship, once it got to that point, was cute.
Ethan makes a dumb mistake, realizes he makes the dumb mistake and fixes it… All within a few last pages of the book.
Felt same old.
Also, this takes place in NYC and snows a lot right before Christmas. I lived in NYC for like 15 years and I wish there was this much snow before Christmas…Happens, but not as often and wonderfully as this book made it timing wise.
Overall, romance lovers will enjoy this one. It’s sweet, it’s got winter, good characters and good writing.
It’s hard to love a book if it doesn’t catch your attention right from the beginning. Glad you did like the last half of it though.
haha its interesting what you say about snow in New York. Most books or shows or movies show it as a ton of snow hehe. I am interested in this author but still on the fence. Need to find a book of hers that would really appeal to me. Lovely review.
One of the soft and sugary ones for Christmas. They seem more cozy and slow-paced. I don’t mind as long as I slip this type in between other faster and more exciting ones. I do mean to try her books at some point.

I just recently read a holiday romance and it was so good so this one is appealing to me right now.
I hate when I am reading a romance and it just feels predictable and same old same old. This sounds like the case for this one for you.

Wow, 13 days to read a cute contemporary… that doesn’t say much for the book. It’s hard to want to pick it up and keep reading when you don’t feel invested in the characters or the story. Too bad this felt kind of old hat.
The book I read by Sarah Morgan took me awhile to read too. Sorry that the plot seemed a bit stale.
It is hard when you don’t slip into a book until late in the game.

I’ve only read one book by this author (it was part of a different trilogy/series) but I really enjoyed it. Sounds like I should stick with that series rather than giving this one a try 🙂 Thanks for the honest review!
