Weekly Recap

Wow, been  a while since I did one of these. It’s been a crazy last couple of weeks. Holidays, Birthdays, Family with medical issues. One the bright side, my little man turned two last weekend! So exciting and so scary. It’s amazing how fast he is growing right before my eyes and all those proud mommy moments when he can count his fingers and is now learning to count to 20. Also the ABCs are finally coming around and it just squeezes my hearth listening to him sing a song.

I think the other stuff, the stuff that’s been causing stress is what’s been putting me in a reading slump. My mood has been blah and I am constantly looking for a book that will grip me from the start. It’s been a bit of a challenge, but I read Starlight Bridge (Harmony Harbor #2)
by Debbie Mason in one day and I loved it, just like I thought I would so I am excited.

The weather though, wow. It was 70 degrees on Friday in Pennsylvania. Yesterday was a steady downpour with lightning and thunder! It’s cold again today. I’m really hoping spring is knocking on the door cause I am so over winter.

I seemed to have had a good read in my reviews last week. Oh and I am 10 books ahead in my reading challenge. I feel I might need to up the amount of books I want to read 😀

  1. Oh I’m excited about reading Windfall and Words in Deep Blue, so I can’t wait to see how you get on with them! And its great that you’re flying through books at the moment, I’m ahead in my reading challenge too, lets just hope that it lasts! I hope that you have a great week Lily!

  2. I had a reading slump as well after reading my first 5 star book I couldn’t find the right one that was at least almost in the same level of it. It’d taken 2 days before I finally found. So frustrating.
Btw, PS I Like You sounds great. 😉 Thanks for sharing.
I hope you have a great weekend. 😀

  3. Congrats on your little one turning two! It’s a cute age!

Our weather has been crazy out here, too. Lots and lots of rain!

I’ve got a copy of Every Little Thing, too, and I’m really excited for it even though the first book was not a win for me. Just a fluke, I think. I’m looking forward to Words in Deep Blue! Those Aussies know how to write! Enjoy the rest of your week, Lily! 🙂

  4. We have been experiencing some nice Spring temps but it started getting colder again. Looking forward to warmer weather, for sure. Belated birthday greetings to your little man! Love that age. So precious!

    Happy reading!

  5. I’m so bummed to see you didn’t like How to Tame a Beast! I just finished it today and loved it!
The weather in Ohio has been a rollercoaster too. 78 on Friday, then snow flurries on Saturday. Its murder on my allergies.
    Have a great week!

  6. Neat that the Debbie Mason book cheered up your reading woes a bit. Yeah, weather has been weird lately. 🙂

Nice haul, there. I’m not familiar with any of them so I’ll look forward to your book thoughts on them.

    Have a good week, Lily!

  7. Same here about the weather! It’s been crazy. I’m over winter as well and ready for spring. And yay for the reading challenge!

Glad to see that PS: I Like You was good.

  8. Ahh… two already. I remember when my kids were that little. It goes fast. Now they are 8 and 6. I think so many of us are struggling with reading right now, I don’t know what it is. I did read Mercy Thompson and loved it so that was a plus. Hope you get back in the groove soon.

  9. Aw, two is such a fun age – with so many changes happening constantly. Ugh, I hate feeling slumpy. Thankfully, it very rarely happens but when it does I tend to reach for a favorite and do a reread. Good to hear the Debbie Mason book did the trick for you! Hooray for being so far ahead in your reading goal! I’m 7-8 books ahead but I’m not upping my goal. I don’t need the pressure. LOL Looks like you got some great new books… enjoy! Hope you have a great week!

  10. The Beast is an Animal sounds amazing and I’m looking forward to reading Words in Deep Blue! Happy 2nd to your little kiddo! And I hope you have tons of great books to get you out of the reading slump (:
